Kasha was one of the 7 puppies in my first litter, and the one I chose to keep, although one of the boys did come back to live with me later, and one of the others (Kobe, who lived outside of Calgary) fathered some great Gandale puppies towards the end of his years. She was a sweet, loving little thing, right near the bottom of the size standard, but she had a giant heart. She loved dog sledding, and I well never forget the images I have of her pulling a sled during her first pregnancy, with her pudgy belly swaying a bit from side to side! She gave birth to several Canadian champions, earning her place in the Canadian Register of Merit as a brood bitch. Among them were Weaver (who was the father of Smokey and LeeLoo, and of their sister Vixen who lived with Lisa Hubenig in Calgary), Snowberry, Izit, Quigley and Ginger.
